The swim contingent from France (also known as FRA) took note of the United States (also known as USA) men's 100 freestyle. The French have been favorites in the men's 4x100 free relay. But in the 100 free prelims and semis in July 2008, at the United States (also known as USA) Olympic Swim Trials in Omaha, three men -- Michael Phelps, Jason Lezak and eventual winner Garrett Weber-Gale -- all broke 48 seconds for the first time.
