Started in Pittsburgh in city government by Mayor Tom Murphy to better organize the baseball community organizations. Was headed for many years by Lou Polito.
Then came under the umbrella of Citiparks, the brand for Parks and Recreation for the City of Pittsburgh.
Insights[]
Expanded past baseball to softball, soccer, flag football, and other recreation league efforts, but never did grow to water polo and swimming, as desired by Mark Rauterkus.
