Human Relations Policy

CLOH.Org maintains, at all times, an environment in which all stakeholders display and receive respect, tolerance and civility. Stakeholders include by way of illustration, but not by way of limitation, all employees, students, families of students, residents and all entities interacting, or doing business with CLOH.Org in any capacity. This policy applies to conduct during, and related to, the operation of the internet site and sponsored activities, and all CLOH.Org business.

CLOH.Org considers human relations in the work, online and educational environment necessary to afford all stakeholders an opportunity to achieve optimal performance in a non-discriminatory atmosphere. Therefore, CLOH.Org reaffirms its policy precluding invidious discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, political party and socioeconomic background.

Definition of Human Relations

Human relations is defined prescriptively and proscriptively as follows:

Human relations is mutual respect, tolerance and civility among all stakeholders.

Conduct reflecting human relations will result in equity for all stakeholders regardless of race, gender, religion, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, political party or socioeconomic background.

Human relations precludes invidious discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, political party or socioeconomic background.

Human relations precludes conduct, including language, overt and covert actions, which may create, or contribute to a hostile environment based upon race, gender, religion, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, political party or socioeconomic background.

Human relations precludes overt and covert exclusionary behavior which limits access to school activities and curricula based upon race, gender, religion, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, political party or socioeconomic background.

The Office of Employee Relations serves as support for human relations concerns such as:

  • Title VI
  • Equal Opportunity
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
  • Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Multicultural Education Practices
  • Sexual Harassment
  • Title IX

The Office of Employee Relations operates proactively to create a harmonious and productive environment that protects the individual rights of employees, parents, students and community by:

  • Investigating complaints of discrimination
  • Resolving conflicts among staff, students and parents
  • Collaborating with schools and other agencies
  • Providing in-service and training on issues of diversity, multiculturalism and prejudice reduction
  • Serving as a resource to all stakeholders seeking assistance.

Reporting to Outside Agencies

Any person who is the subject of a violation of this Human Relations Policy may have the right to file complaints with federal, state or local regulatory agencies, in addition to reporting procedures provided in this policy. Time limits for filing complaints with these agencies vary. The complainant should check directly with the agency for specific instructions for filing a complaint.
