• Croatia, Greece qualify for Olympics hoops tourney 07/19/08 - ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Croatia (also known as CRO) overcame a 30-point, 13-rebound effort by Dirk Nowitzki to beat Germany (also known as GER) 76-70 on Saturday, securing a berth at the 2008 Olympics. Greece (also known as GRE) also earned a spot in the tournament by beating Puerto Rico (also known as PUR) , 88-63.

• Nowitzki scores 35 for Germany in Oly qualifier - 07/16/08 - Dirk Nowitzki scored a tournament-high 35 points to lead Germany (also known as GER) to an 89-71 victory over New Zealand (also known as NZL) on Wednesday at a qualifying tournament for the 2008 Olympics.
