Hart coached Michael Johnson, Greg Haughton, Sanya Richards, Jeremy Wariner and Darold Williamson. Wariner and Hart parted ways in 2008.
Hart was a state champion miler at Hot Springs, Arkansas. He graduated from Baylor University in 1956.
