Player-badge 1

Level 7, Player (citizen realm)

  • Should have a women player badge too.

Background[]

This badge starts the sports participation ladder for athletes hoping to participate in community water polo games. In many locations (e.g. school swimming pools), insurance measures must be in place for walk-on athletes to compete in matches. This badge rewards the completion of these insurance measures as well as the completion of the first community match for the athlete.

Insights[]

The badge requires paid registration with American Water Polo for insurance and commemorates the first completed competitive or club water polo game. It is located in the sports and volunteering ladder after initial registration with CLOH and lateral to registration with 4-H as a volunteer. From this position--after also completing a 4-H volunteer badge--it is easy to progress forward down the path of fitness and service to levels of competition and volunteering that make the participant a leading figure in the pool and community, and are rewarded with more exciting and exclusive badges.
