Dr. Solum is a former college instructor in Physical Education and Sociology and a retired Doctor of Chiropractic. As a coach, he has extensive coaching experience at the high school level and was the Assistant Coach at Long Beach City College and the Head Coach at Fullerton Community College and El Camino Community College. His passion for shooting and shooting techniques has evolved to the point where he has written a complete textbook entitled the Science of Shooting. His online course is based on this textbook. A student of Ricardo Azevedo, three-time US Olympic coach and father of Tony Azevedo. Dr. Solum, as a private shooting coach, has developed 36 Division players in college. He trained the 2004 Women's NCAA MVP and the 2007 Cutino Award winner, men's college player of the year, John Mann. His years of coaching in high school and college plus his in-the-water personal training of elite water polo players has given him a comprehensive view of the fundamentals of shooting for men and women.
