“I’m ready for the fight,” Hendee said. “Shelli, Claire, Caroline and I have felt all the thoughts, concerns and prayers of our Tennessee family and we so much appreciate them.”

Hendee was diagnosed with three tumors on the left side of his brain and will begin a clinical trial at Duke University Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a part of the treatments Hendee will receive aggressive chemotherapy

The Chattanooga native is in his 28th year as an assistant at Tennessee and his 33rd overall season with the program.
