Where oh where as per the Coaches Directory Sources: The Coaches Directory has the best mailing list database of all sports and all coaches at many different levels. Data from that directory can be examined to determine the scope of sports participation by state by sport by levels. http://www.clellwade.com Questions of where and how much can be answered as one looks at various sports participation levels. In the western part of Pennsylvania when it comes to Water Polo. there are no coaches. Water Polo, an Olympic sport for men and now women, is absent from our sporting landscape in the Pittsburgh area. But, there are 25 coaches in the sport in PA -- beyond Western PA.

Swimming Coaches The state of Pennsylvania ranks fourth in the nation with its high number of swimming coaches working at the high school level. Pennsylvania has a large number of swimming teams, as show below with these rankings. Pennsylvania outshines Florida, Indiana, New Jersey and Illinois. Pennsylvania takes a back seat only to the highly populated states of California, New York and Texas. Our level of scholastic swimming participation is tremendously high while our level of excellent facilities -- as in Aquatic Centers -- is tremendously low. With so many schools participating at the sport at the grass-roots level, and so few aquatic centers it is easy to present a case that a new aquatic center would be able to host many special events and draw participants from state-wide audience of its citizens.
