Penn State Behrend comes into the 2019 Division III Eastern Championship holding a 3-2 mark against the rest of the field with prior meetings against Washington & Jefferson College (13-9 W, September 7; 11-6 W, September 14; 9-8 W, September 27), Connecticut College (11-8 L, September 21) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (18-8 L, September 21).
In 2018 at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., the Lions claimed a program best tying Third Place finish as Penn State Behrend defeated Connecticut (15-13 W), fell to the host Blue Jays (19-7 L) and usurped Washington & Jefferson (12-11 W).
In 2011, the Lions were defeated by Johns Hopkins (20-6 L) prior to upending Connecticut (119 W) at home in Erie to finish in Third Place... In 2008, Penn State Behrend stopped Connecticut 21-12, dropped a 20-5 game to host Johns Hopkins and a 21-15 contest against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) before overcoming Washington & Jefferson 12-9 to take Third Place...The Lions finished claimed a Third Place finish in 2006 at home in the Junker Center as the program downed Connecticut (13-12 W), came up short against Hopkins (18-4 L) and MIT (13-7 L) prior to cutting down Connecticut (8-6 W).
In 2019, Penn State Behrend made history on Friday, October 18, at home against Iona College as the squad defeated the Gaels by a 12-11 score. It marked Behrend's first defeat of a Division I school since picking up a 5-0 forfeit victory over Fordham University during the 2002 season at the Grove City College Invitational.
