John A. Brashear High School is a comprehensive and magnet 9-12 school located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Established in 1976 upon merger of the 9-12 components of Fifth Avenue, Gladstone, and South Hills Junior / Senior High School, Brashear maintains a proud tradition of cultural diversity and high achievement.
Brashear is a full-service and inclusive learning community, consistently addressing the needs of young learners by providing comprehensive programs that can be adapted to accommodate their particular needs. In addition to a wide array of courses, programs, and extracurricular activities, Brashear is home to the Computer Science Magnet. This program is open to all 9-12 students enrolled in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, upon application and acceptance.
