Insights[]
Since 1980, Perry has operated as a traditional academy magnet with a math/science adjunct magnet. The purpose of the magnet was to emphasize traditional education and values, while attracting a student population that reflected the racial composition of the city. The needs of the district and our students have evolved. Therefore, it is necessary to re-focus and re-define the school in order to:
- preserve the strengths of the school
- meet the ever-changing demands of the 21st century
- offer the premier academic program in Pittsburgh
- ensure that students are Promise ready when they graduate
Mission Statement: Pittsburgh Perry High School is a traditional academy that will provide strong, consistent discipline, a structured setting, clear expectations, and rigorous instruction to ensure that students will be Promise ready. Motto: Scholarship, Leadership, Service
