Scalper vows to have tickets available for 2010 Olympics[]

VANCOUVER - A leading Vancouver ticket broker says people who don't end up nabbing any of the scarce tickets available for the 2010 Olympic Games shouldn't worry.

Mario Livich of ShowTime tickets says he'll have them for sale -and soon - despite a vow by Vancouver organizers to squelch the scalper market.

Livich says he applauds 2010 organizers' effort's to set up their own resale market for coveted Olympics tickets, in an attempt to thwart resales and scam artists.

But he says only a fraction of the tickets for high-demand events are being sold to the public and that means a brisk resale market is inevitable.

He says he'll be starting to sell Olympic tickets later this fall and expects to do more business than ever before.

The first phase of official ticket sales begins Oct. 3, 2008.
